Noble Neighborhood Library History:
1923
January 23

Noble opened in a movable building on the grounds of Noble Elementary School.

1923
October 15

Noble was opened three days per week.

1924
October 1

Noble changed its hours so that the library would be open six days per week.

1925

Noble Library moved into a different portable building.

1937

Noble Library moved into its current location, a new brick building located at 2800 Noble Road.  The building is in the Georgian Revival style and was designed by Cleveland architects Frank Walker and Harry Weeks.

1963

Noble Library was expanded and the Non-Fiction Room was added.

1995

Noble Library was renovated.  An elevator and new meeting rooms were added.

1995

Noble Library was featured in the Heights Heritage Home Tour in September.

Did you know?:

  • Noble Library has hosted a monthly Great Book Discussion Group since 1946.
  • The school district has taught English as a Second Language classes at Noble for many years.
  • Noble Library has a Knitting Circle that meets every first and third Thursday of each month.  The group knits blankets and apparel for Women’s shelters and the homeless.
  • On 1/23/23 when the library opened its doors for the first time, staff circulated 55 books and issued 48 library cards.
